The December meeting of the club has morphed into the annual Christmas Dinner, which was held at the marvellous village asset which is otherwise known as the Cross Keys. The room was warm and welcoming, the company was excellent, the food was fantastic and everyone who attended had no need of breakfast the morning after. Everyone involved had put in a lot of effort for the Christmas meal. The chefs and serving staff had done their utmost and the attendees had spent a lot of time considering and finally deciding on what was the perfect attire for the occasion. Not ‘Sunday Best’ because that would have been just too showy. Not gardening or work clothes because, although they are very comfortable, paint stains and rips are only suitable for a few specific times and places! But lots of perfect examples of ‘smart but casual’.
